Judges Suspended For Mass Copying

The judges were writing the examinations to get promotions.

26th Aug, 2010: The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Wednesday suspended 5 judges who indulged in mass copying of LLM examinations (previous) being conducted by Sri Krishnadevaraya University.

According to legal sources, the 5 were caught red-handed by a squad of invigilators during the LLM examinations being conducted by Sri Krishnadevaraya University under the distance education mode at the Arts College in Hanmakonda.

The judges have been identified as Rangareddy Senior Civil Judge K Ajit Simharao, Bapatla senior civil judge Srinivasa Chary, Anantapur senior civil judge M Kishtappa, Warangal junior civil judge Hanumantha Rao and Second additional judge Vijayanand.

The judges were writing the examinations to get promotions.

The court directed the University officials to initiate action against all judges who indulged in mass copying, and to submit a comprehensive report on the entire incident.

The court also directed the state government to initiate disciplinary action against them, as, it claimed, they brought disrepute to the law profession.
