26th Aug, 2010: Pradesh Congress Committee president D Srinivas on Thursday stated that the party would observe the first death anniversary of former chief minister late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy at all district headquarters on a grand scale.
Talking to media persons after reviewing the arrangements being made for the occasion at Gandhi Bhavan with party workers, DS said that the party would observe the solemn occasion at 10:30am on September 2, at the party headquarters.
Later a memorial program would be observed, he said.
The PCC chief stated that a photo exhibition on the life history of the former CM would be inaugurated at Gandhi Bhavan, and added that Chief Minister K Rosaiah, Cabinet Ministers, MPs and MLAs would participate in the program.
DS appealed to district leaders and workers to observe the anniversary in all districts. He appealed to district leaders to pay tributes, which, he said, the great leader deserved.
Reacting on the allegations leveled by some leaders against implementation of schemes initiated by YSR, the PCC chief said that these remarks were their personal opinion and in no way reflected the Congress party's stance.
He added that the image of the former chief minister cannot be tarnished by the remarks of some leaders.
