A mouth-watering opportunity wafts in from the East for foodies of Hyderabad. Taj Krishna is organising a Pan-Asian food festival at Golden Dragon, the Szechwan and Cantonese specialty restaurant. The festival is on from 26th June to 5th July. Chef Kamal Prasaath, from the nationally acclaimed Hip Asia, Taj Connemara, has been especially flown down to serve his authentic pan-Asian specialties. The festival is a-la-carté, and is open from 12:30pm to 2:45pm for lunch, and from 7:30pm to 11:45pm for dinner.
Wokery being his forte, Chef Kamal specialises in Thai, Malaysian and Vietnamese food, and possesses a good knowledge of Japanese cuisine as well. He started his career 4 years ago, as an opening team member of the Hip Asia restaurant at the Taj Connemara. He has trained under several master chefs, and also at the Thai Pavilion restaurant at the Taj President in Mumbai. Kamal enjoys cooking oriental food and working on the wok, Thai food being his favorite cuisine to cook.
The menu consists of Thai, Japanese, Vietnam and Malaysian cuisines. Thai cuisine offers a flavourful selection of fiery food with a harmonious balance of sweet and sour. Vietnamese cuisine is for health freaks, with its emphasis on raw vegetables and minimal deep frying. Malaysian cuisine, reflective of a multicultural heritage, is an intricate mélange of flavors replete with tropical fruit and succulent seafood. And from Japan, the island surrounded by fish, meat and shellfish, the cuisine consists of raw fish and seasoned rice.
Don't forget to make way for dessert. Coconut Caramel Custard, a famous Vietnamese caramel custard flavored with coconut; Tub Tim Grob, a dish of Thai coconut cream flavored with pandanus leaves and water chestnuts; and Kaffir Lime Mousse covered with rich Gianduja Chocolate, are some of the choices available.
