Sangeet Martand Pandit Jasraj is organising the 37th Pandit Motiram Pandit Maniram Sangeet Samaroh, from 27th to 30th November, at the Chowmahalla Palace. This year, 10 artistes, including upcoming as well as senior performers, will perform during the 4-day festival. The festival starts with a Hindustani vocal recital by Pritam Bhattacharya.

Pritam Bhattacharya is a young rising star in the Hindustani music firmament. Having shown an inclination towards music from childhood, Pritam began his initial training under his mother Monjushree Bhattacharya at the tender age of 3. He then trained under Amarendra Chakraborty till the age of 14 years. In the year 1995, he had the privilege of training under Sangeet Martand Pandit Jasraj.

Pritam has performed along with Pt. Jasraj, and also solo in many concerts and festivals in India and abroad, prominent among them being the Doverlane Music Conference in Kolkata; Gunidas Sangeet Samaroh in Delhi; Sawai Gandharva Sangeet Samaroha in Pune; Pandit Motiram Sangeet Samaroh in Hyderabad, Indore, Ahmedabad, Jaipur and Mumbai in India; and at the ICCR's 50th anniversary celebrations in South Africa (Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg), Kenya, Namibia, Tanzania, Mauritius and the United States. He is currently a member of the faculty at the Pandit Jasraj School Of Music Foundation, Atlanta Chapter.

The schedule for the 4-day music festival is as below:

8:15pm - Hindustani Vocal By Suman Ghosh
9:00pm - Qawwali By Munnawar Masoom

30th November
7:30pm - Carnatic Flute Recital By Shashank
8:30pm - Tabla Recital By Yogesh Samsi
9:30pm - Hindustani Vocal By Sangeet Martand Pt Jasraj

In memory of his late father Pandit Motiram, and his brother Pandit Maniram, Pandit Jasraj, in association with the Department of Culture, organizes an annual music festival in Hyderabad. It is usually held at the Nizam College grounds, which was where his father and his brother taught music to several students. The festival has been on for over 35 years.
