S D Road's gotten glitzier and even harder to resist after CMR happened. If you somehow managed to pass the Chandana Brothers Patny showroom without dropping in for at least a quick buy, then you'll have to really fight temptation to refuse yourself a visit to CMR, Chandana's exclusive store for ladies.

Large and with enough variety to be a department store, CMR specializes in everything a woman will need to complete a special occasion. Or even a trip to the Movies. Because here you'll find everything from silk saris to glittery party tops, from silver gift items to Ray-Ban sunglasses, and from cosmetics to pure 24-carat jewelry.

The first level of the store is taken up by the silks and jewelry sections. You'll find just as much variety at the saris counter as there is in any Chandana Brothers showroom, with Kanchi silks, Dharamavarams and Benaras saris being the most favored. Embroidered, hand-painted and elaborately sequined saris for up to Rs. 25,000 vie for your attention here.

The jewelry section is bigger, and has so much choice, you'll need a good couple of hours to do it justice. CMR specializes in higher-end jewelry and in gold sets in antique designs. There's also a special section just for diamonds, plus a gift counter for Ray-Bans and gold watches from Titan. On the first level, you'll also find silver gift ideas and three fully-stocked cosmetics counters, with every shade and hue under the sun.

On the second level is a range more casual, but just as diverse as the collection you'll find below. Luxurious night-dresses, vibrant and funky tops, dress material in Mangalagiri, Pochampally and silk, blouse-pieces, and, oh yes, more saris! The saris range here is more informal, and is priced between Rs. 1,000 and Rs. 4,000.

A spacious store with enough room and choice for you to browse endlessly, CMR is a great place to visit if you enjoy the experience of shopping. Beautifully lit, comfortably furnished and with salespeople who know their range inside out, you'll find it a real delight to visit.
