One of the few places in Banjara Hills that will leave your wallet unscathed, Midways is an old favorite with many foodies of the area. Located on a rather busy shopping street, this eatery won't exactly send you over the moon with its food, but it's a worth a visit for a couple of very good specialties.
First of all, it's very popular for its sandwiches, especially the chicken. At only Rs. 12 each, two of these will keep you going till the next meal. The Veg. Cheese and Chicken Burgers, the Veg. Roll and the Chicken Hotdog are quite good. Another must-try is the Chicken Footlong, which is not a foot long, but fills you up good all the same.
Midways also tosses a good pizza, and even though there isn't too much choice here, you can pick and choose from a small range of toppings. For around Rs. 35 you will get a basic cheese pizza, and you pick the toppings from Olives, Mushroom and Chilly Chicken (Rs. 10 each, on average).
The dessert tray is decent, with the Butterscotch Gateau, Chocolate Rolls and the good ol' Pineapple Pastry being the best of the rest. You can also order cakes here, and the more interesting kinds include the Rich Chocolate, Walnut and Fruit Trifle. Fresh marshmallows are also available sometimes.
Families stop by here a lot, and they're joined by the occasional picnic party from
JVR Park. On the whole, a good place for a quick bite.
