When we talk about Regal Sports, we talk history, we talk passion, we talk Hyderabadi fervor and mirth overflowing in abandon. Regal Sports has been every one of them, for over 40 years, since the birth of our nation.

In 2000, Regal, in its zeal to keep pace with the changing sports and fitness culture, churned out its own fitness specialty boutique in the form of Regal Fitness, which then was the first of its kind in town.

When planning a visit here, be sure not to confuse it with its parent store, Regal Sports, which is still located at M G Road, Secunderabad. The Regal fitness division, however, is located on Sardar Patel Road, Secunderabad, near Anand theater, right above the Hyundai Talwar showroom.

As you make your way into the store, for a millisecond you are agape in awe thinking you've mistakenly barged into some classy gym. Regal simply stands tall among all the other half-soused wannabe pretenders in town that are an organized mess themselves. Be it the decor or the hardwood flooring, or the ambience in toto, Regal Fitness has it all for those of you who prefer to shop in a good-looking store, with prices better than those in those rundown ones you so detest shopping at.

And as for the real thing, the glorious fleet of fitness apparatus Regal has is sure to have you spellbound.

Regal has always been about moving. Moving with purpose, moving with passion and moving beyond limits. And the better it moved, the better it became. This simple and enduring premise is embraced by it in every piece of fitness equipment it sells, which includes an array of world-renowned fitness brands like Life Sports, California Fitness, Sportop, Body Solid and Sports Art.

There's a multitude of treadmills of all sizes and kinds, all motorized, surprisingly cheaper, at Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 45,000, than all those rip-offs that charge worthlessly high. There the spinning bikes that are motorized, meant for the pros and priced at Rs. 65,000. If you think that's pricey, then there are the normal manual exercise bikes that have an extensible aerobic stepper and rowing equipment attached - priced at, hold your breath, Rs. 8,500. For the well-heeled, there are also bikes attached with LCD screens, at Rs. 1 lakh. Then come the elliptical trainers, at Rs. 35,000.

The home gym collection Regal has tells us why it indemnifies the phrase "world-class fitness made affordable".

Home gyms maybe all about moving the bar. But they impact and strengthen every facet of your body, culminating in total fitness. The first key to successful strength training is choosing the right equipment, and using it properly. I've been informed that for most home users, a "selectorized home gym" is the safest and most practical way to strength-train at home.

There are five different home gyms to choose from, and the cordial and knowledgeable staffers will help you find the one that meets your needs and helps you achieve your strength training goals. These equipment cost about Rs. 13,000, which is total VFM. A decade ago I've bought similar equipment called Astrofit (a home gym) from the not-so-suave old Regal Sports at a slightly cheaper price (Rs. 10,000). Now, a decade later, a better equipped home gym at Regal costs almost the same. It's all about value and integrity.

All this apart, there are the quintessential abdominal crunch benches and exercisers, weight slabs, weights, balls, and, of course, the dumbbells. Abdominal benches are, as usual, temptingly priced at Rs. 3,500, dumbbells are at Rs. 80 per kilo for the rubber ones and Rs. 50 per kilo for the chrome ones. The weights cost you Rs. 50 per pound, while the weight setup benches are at Rs. 5,000.

Regal Fitness pretty much runs the table when it comes to fitness needs. If you're looking for a complete fitness outlet that addresses the needs of your entire family offering full value for money, then this one is a no brainer.
