Young Man 2 Girls

I'm pretty sure the distributor hasn't watched the movie at all because if he did, he'd have realized that the story is about a young man and two girls but it isn't at all about… well, what you'd think it is about! It is a dubbed Hong Kong movie and the original name is Stone Age Warriors.

Lucy Wong goes to the house of one Eiko and tells her that she's Eiko's father's mistress and that she's pregnant. The father is presumed dead, but upon insisting to see him, Eiko tells Lucy that he isn't dead but is captive somewhere. Eiko and Lucy go to some far-off place to see him and in due course we realize that Lucy isn't pregnant but that she's an insurance agent investigating the guy's 'death'.

In the village, they meet Dragon, who's the 'young man'. He's the strong silent type who offers to take them to the father. The father is held captive by a gang who know that he knows the whereabouts of a treasure. Well, lots of fights and action later, the father is rescued and everyone's happy.

If you've ever seen a Southeast Asian movie, you'd find this a very typical example. There is comedy mixed into the action (a-la Jackie Chan), and the fights are vigorous and exciting. The audience seemed to feel compensated for their initial disappointment (they obviously went by the posters!) by the comedy and, for the first time, I actually heard groans when interval-time came around! It's a fun movie that is just being wrongly advertised. It could actually have been a family thing if it wasn't for the crowd.
