Editorial Review

First the title is a copy of the superhit film Kalisundaam Raa. As if this is not enough, director S V Krishna Reddy tackles the same old subject of the husband falling for his personal secretary, attempted by so many directors in the recent past, and comes up a cropper.

In this so-called entertaining family drama, there is hardly any drama. It deals only with Jagapati Babu's grumblings that his wife Soundarya does not have time for him, caught as she is in domestic chores. And what starts as a feel good film, and stretches for 40 minutes of longing of the husband and wife for each other, soon enters the second stage of nagging and grumbling. After 10 minutes of this drama, the stage is set for the hero to lose his heart to his newly-recruited personal secretary, Asha Saini, which he does promptly without any compunctions of conscience. And we have the interval.

The wife now realizes that a great deal of damage has been done to her marriage, and so sets about solving the problem with active help from her maternal uncle, Prakash Raj. But how she goes about the whole thing is laughable.

Soundarya portrays the role as she has done in a number of films. Ditto Jagapati Babu. Ditto ditto with comedians Brahmanandam and M S Narayana. And the same is the case with Prakash Raj too.

If you have already seen the rib-tickling comedy thriller Sati Leelavati, which is a remake of the English film She-Devil, then you can keep away from the theaters. This film is derived from the same source. In case you still want to see it, go to the nearest video shop and rent out the cassette.
