- By the fullhyd.com team
After the zillion rounds of KBR, it's easy to forget that there are other parks in town, too. Here are the best places to escape global warming, or at least from your life.

Indira Park
The renovation in the late '90s did quite a bit for its appeal - with stone and gravel paths crisscrossing the entire length and breadth of the park, Indira Park is now quite a hit.

Jawahar Deer Park (Shamirpet)
128 deer, 15 different species of birds and snakes, and monitors afoot. This is not the forest version of Fear Factor. Far from it. It's a huge, shaded park right outside town.

Where: Jawahar Lake Tourist Complex, On Karimnagar Highway, Shamirpet Mandal

Nehru Zoological Park
The largest zoo in India. Would have been largest in the world, but they're still not dumping traffic rule violaters in here.

K B R Park (Kasu Brahmananda Reddy Park)
You can have a real good time at KBR just taking in the serenity and stillness of the park, if you promise to not laugh or talk loudly. Apparently that's punishable under some law or something.

Where: Jubilee Hills CheckPost, Jubilee Hills (5.4 km)

Public Gardens
Cared for by an army of 500, the city's most well-known lawns promise soothing afternoons and much more pleasant evenings. For most locals, visiting the Public Gardens is like a temple-ritual... they keep returning.

Where: Assembly Road, Nampally (0.7 km)

Chacha Nehru Park
It's very easy to take the wrong turn when you're going to Chacha Nehru Park: and a wrong turn may not be very pleasant. There's a reason, however, that the park is so popular - the people who get in the right way are quite happy.

Where: On the road running under the Masabtank Flyover, perpendicular to it Behind Sports Coaching Foundation, Masab Tank (1.9 km)

Lumbini Park Laserium
Forget Tequila shots, forget psychotropic drugs. If you are in the quest for a more sober inebriation, this is where it's at.

Yogi Bear Putt Putt, Mini Golf & Children's Park
Are you what Wodehouse might call an incurable goof? Here's good news, if the shortage of putting greens in the city has got you down. Miniature golf, for the first time in the city!

Where: Beside Sanjeevaiah Park, Necklace Road (4.1 km)

Sanjeevaiah Park
If you look around you, you might get the feeling that you're invading privacy here. The park is famous for certain kinds of rendevoux, and the entire city knows that. But walk on.

Where: Along the Hussain Sagar Lake, on the road connecting the Tank Bund Road to Necklace Road on the Secunderabad side, Tank Bund (2.3 km)

Lotus Pond
No, it's not Bharatpur, and it's not going to be anytime soon, but it will do. It's a wonderful experience to take a walk here. Alternatively, you could just sit and watch the birds.

Where: Inside MLA Colony, Jubilee Hills (3.5 km)

Landscape Garden
The Landscape Garden is almost 600 acres of greenery suitable for a morning walk and an exercise schedule. But this was made for the OU students to study and then pray, and has amenities for both.

J V R Park (Jalagam Vengal Rao Park)
Located in a man-made crater halfway between Banjara and Jubilee hills, the Jalagam Vengal Rao park has some of the greenest grass in the city. The pond in the park is also one of the greenest in the city.

Lumbini Park
A good place to go boating once in a while and catch a glimpse of India's largest Buddha statue. It's hard these days to find anyone looking so peaceful.

Osman Sagar Park
Autorikshaw drivers, lovers, psuedo cricketers, grafitti artists...once picturesque, Osman Sagar now plays host to the down-and-outs of the city.

Rainbow Garden
Three years ago, the wilderness on both sides of Road No. 36 in Jubilee Hills was demarcated from the main road, and a park was conceived. Today, it doesn't look much different.
