The ladies wing of the Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO) in Hyderabad organised a two-day-long lifestyle exhibition-cum-sale that began on August 11.
The expo was held at the Dreamlands Garden in Secunderabad as part of the SWAYAM and ROSHNI projects of the JITO that aim to provide business opportunities to exhibitors whose livelihoods are dependent on such events.
The event was inaugurated by Maanas Nagulapalli, a Telugu film actor and an Nandi award winner.
On the occasion, JITO ladies wing Chairperson Sarla Bhutoria said that the exhibition would provide an effective platform to the self-employed through which to boost their businesses and widen their customer bases. As part of this effort, out of a total of 100 stalls, 22 were offered free of cost to women entrepreneurs from financially disadvantaged backgrounds.
Stalls set up under the ROSHNI project were used to promote cottage industry products while those under set up under the SWAYAM initiative gave all categories of exhibitors from across the nation an opportunity to showcase their wares.
Everything from designer clothes, jewellery, accessories, Rakhis, home decor, bridal wear, and footwear was available at the expo. Some wedding planners and event planners had also set up stalls at the venue.
All in all, it was quite an exciting affair.
