Avatars Of Vishnu Brought To Life On Canvas

Renowned artist Rayana Giridhar Goud's series titled "Dashavatara - Dialectics of Tradition" was on display at the Kalakriti Art Gallery last week.
The well-known artist whose miniatures are highly celebrated across the country, showcased 23 select works from the series at the event. The pieces on display included canvases showing the evolution and transformation of Vishnu's ten avatars alongside the miniatures.
Describing the deep and lasting influence of mythology on his work, the artist said that his vision behind showcasing the evolution of life through the evolution of the ten avatars may not have been scientifically proven yet, but when seen through the eyes of art, had a certain veracity that he wanted to bring out.
The artist's subtle characterization of each avatar using distinct colours, strokes and symmetry was highly appreciated by all.
